Bert Nelson Rick, age 81, of Newport, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at St. Mary's Health Systems in Knoxville.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Ella Rick; brothers T. L., Blaine, and Ralph Rick, and sister Ollie Lewis.

He is survived by his nieces and nephews Gene Lewis, Darlene Lewis, and Sandra Barton, all of North Carolina; Phyllis Reece of Newport; William Rick of Jefferson County; Jimmy and Donnie Rick, both of Newport; and special friend Cora James of Newport.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2010, in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Vinson Askew officiating. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010, in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral.
