Essie F. Stokely, age 87, of Del Rio, passed away
Tuesday, January 26, 2010.
She was a member of Jones Chapel United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother
Charlie and Annie Sexton Finchum, brothers William L. Finchum and Darrell
Finchum, and sisters Juanita Nichols and Pearl Osteen.
She is survived by her husband Hubert B. Stokely, sons
Thomas H. Stokely and wife Barbara and Stephen V. Stokely and wife Dianne; daughter
Laura S. Williford and husband Dan; granddaughters Amy W. France and husband
Travis; Melina S. Strange and husband Tim; great-grandsons Dereck and Zachary
France; sisters Dean Smith and Lois Moore; brother-in-law Jack Nichols;
sisters-in-law Lois Finchum, Bureda S. Finchum, and Connie Stokely; and a host
of nieces, nephews, cousins, and family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday,
January 28, 2010, in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Charlie Williams and
Dr. Mel Hawkins officiating.
Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 29,
2010, in Stokely Cemetery, Del Rio.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Thursday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral.
