Norman Lee Halye, age 53, of Newport, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2009, at his home after battling a lengthy illness.

He was a veteran having served in the United States Army.

He was devoted to his friends and family and was a loving husband and stepfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents  Betty and Franklin Hayle.

He is survived by his wife Dawn Hayle; stepdaughters Delani and Randi; sister-in-law Renea Smithpeters; mother-in-law Jane Smithpeters; sister Anna Lewis; father-in-law and very close and special friend Randall Smithpeters; also longtime friend Freddy Jackson.

The family will receive friends 5-7 Tuesday, November 10, 2009, in Manes Funeral Home West Chapel followed by a memorial service with Rev. Leon Large officiating.
