Carl Dean (Sonny) Hudson, Jr., age 62, of Newport, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2009, at his home.

He was preceded in death by his parents Carl Dean and Anna (Hartsell) Hudson and grandchildren Allen Jeffery and Brandon Scott Strange.

He is survived by his children Cassie (Jeff) Strange and Darlene Spencer, both of Newport; brother Curtis (Barbara) Hudson of Dandridge; sister Carolyn (Charles) Johnson of Newport; grandchildren Alan and Dakota Strange, Travis Spencer, and Leann Sartin; great-grandchild Dillian Spencer; special friend Joan Hudson; also several nieces, nephews, and family and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 30, 2009 at Manes Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday prior to the memorial service.
