Mr. Joe Anderson

Mr. Joe Anderson, age 83, passed away Thursday morning, October 22, 2009, at Signature Health Care in Greeneville.

He was born December 21, 1925 to Elmer Brumley Anderson and Virgie Hull Anderson. He attended Mosheim High School.

During World War II, he served in the United States Navy and was stationed in Japan.

He was employed by Magnavox from 1952-1992.

He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church.

Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother Maurice Hull Anderson.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years Mary Jane Ottinger Anderson; daughters and sons-in-law Sharon and Bill Seneker, Linda and David Sutton, and Brenda and Terry Cannon, and by his daughter Judy Whitson.

He is also survived by his granddaughter and grandson-in-law Suzanne (Cannon) and Robert Wilhoit and by his grandson and granddaughter-in-law Joseph and Anna Sutton and grandsons Thomas Sutton and Derrick Whitson; one great-grandchild Cannon Abigail Wilhoit; his sister and brother-in-law Carolyn (Anderson) and Max Cobble of Denver, CO; brother-in-law Jack Ray Ottinger of Parrottsville; and cousins Betty Ann Solomon and Jane Weems.

Additional survivors include special friends Wayne Franklin, J. D. Blazer, Willard Huff, Ronnie Harrison, and church members of Salem Lutheran Church.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery in Parrottsville. Pastor Jack Wilder will officiate.

A Celebration of Life Reception in memory of Mr. Anderson will be provided by his family in the church fellowship hall following the service. The women of Salem WELCA will serve the refreshments.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Salem Lutheran Church.
