Althie Ball Sauceman

Althie Ball Sauceman departed life on May 15, 2008 at her
home in Newport, Tennessee, following an extended illness. At her death, she
was attended by her family and a host of dear friends, particularly Carlene
Reed and Eva Eschelbacher. Her transition was eased by her dedicated and caring
coworkers at Smoky Mountain Health and Hospice.
Althie Sauceman was the daughter of Scott and Ellen Ball of
Cosby, Tennessee, each of whom preceded her in death. Her husband, W.C. Sauceman,
passed away several years ago. Brothers, Narve Ball of Cosby, Tennessee, Ruble
Ball of Calhoun, South Carolina and Carlie Ball of Newport, Tennessee; sisters,
Rachel Campbell of Hickory, North Carolina and Rhonda Gildersleeve of
Spartanburg, South Carolina and beloved sister-in-law, Edith Carver of Newport
also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children, Althie Mae Testerman,
Dorothy "Dottie" Ford, Jesse Sauceman and William "Bill" Sauceman; her brother,
Oscar Carver of Newport; grandchildren, Robert Thornton, Jennifer L. Sauceman,
Amanda Ford, Richard "Ricky" Testerman, David H. Testerman; and
great-grandchild, Ashton Thornton. She is also survived by her "adopted"
daughters and special friends, Carlene Reed, Tammy Francis and Melissa Ball,
Esq. as well as several beloved nephews and nieces.
At the departed's request, no formal memorial services will
be held and her mortal remains are cremated with burial arrangements handled by
Brown's Funeral Home. Her family appreciates the expressions of sympathy from
friends and neighbors. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Smoky
Mountain Hospice Program at 222 Heritage Blvd., Newport, Tennessee so that they
may continue their outstanding work.
