DANDRIDGE––Mary Magdalene “Stag” Ray, age 60, of Knoxville, went home to be with the Lord on May 10, 2008, with family members by her side.

 

She was a member of A.M.E. Zion Methodist Church of Swannsylvania.

 

She was preceded in death by her father, Elbert Ray; sister, Judy Marie; brothers, Eddie and Freddie Ray, Leroy Ray, Curtis Branner; grandparents, Della and Mitch Ray, Roy and Mary Branner; special aunt, Vera Cuberson; best friend, Mary Jen Curberson.

 

She is survived by her mother, Curley Ray, of Jefferson City; daughter, Tracy Ray, of Knoxville; son, Mitchell Ray, of Knoxville; God-son, Orlando (Tatorbug) Ray, of Strawberry Plains; sisters, Elizabeth Cotner (Todd Cotner), of White Pine, and Brenda Swaggerty, of Newport; brothers, Ralph Ray (Kim Ray), of Knoxville, and Steven Ray (Mary Ray), of North Carolina; grandchildren, Kimberly Ray, of Newport; Jordan Ray, Terrannie Ray and Blake Ray, of Dandridge, Jakota Ray and Aletheus Ray, of Newport; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins and many loved friends; devoted nephew, Joseph Ray, of Dandridge; devoted niece, Kristi (Lullie) Robertson, of California; devoted cousin, Rikki Rudd, of Knoxville.

 

Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday evening, May 15, 2008, at the Farrar Dandridge Chapel with the Reverend Steve Simpson, the Reverend Billy Branner and the Reverend Rosie Cuberson officiating.

 

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service.

 

Family and friends will gather at 10:00 a.m. Friday morning to proceed to Dandridge Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service.
