Louis Edward “Sonny Boy” Norwood

Louis Edward “Sonny Boy” Norwood, age 70, of Del Rio,
passed away Sunday, May 4, 2008, at Baptist Hospital of East Tennessee in
Knoxville.
He was a faithful member of Maple Grove Missionary
Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He continued with the church’s
radio and nursing home ministries until his health would no longer permit him
to do so.
He was preceded in death by his son, Lewis Eugene
Norwood; parents, Edward and Dussie Norwood; sisters, Hessie Messer and Joanne
Norwood; brother, Larry Norwood.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Rose
Norwood; children, Billy and B.J. Norwood, of Del Rio; Glenda Norwood and Gail
Dunn, Lisa and Roy Shropshire, all of Parrottsville; grandchildren, Stacie
Norwood, Justin Shropshire, Dylin Shropshire, Mandi Crum, and Chris Crum and
wife Ashley; great-granddaughter, Mayce Hall.
Sisters, Louise Greene, of Dandridge, and Bonnie
Turner, of Newport; sister and brother-in-law, Clara Mae and Fain Mottern, of
Sevierville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Diane Norwood, Harold and
Judy Norwood, of Dandridge; Clyde and Dorise Norwood, of Sevierville; John A.
and Mary Norwood, Clayton and Claudia Norwood, of Newport; also several nieces
and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m., May
6, 2008, at Brown Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 7,
2008, at Brown Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Haney and the Rev. Billy
Sutton officiating.
